Fabio Luisi
GRAMMY® Award winner Fabio Luisi launched his tenure as Louise W. & Edmund J. Kahn Music Director of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra (DSO) at the start of the 2020/21 season. In January 2021, the DSO and Luisi announced an extension of the Music Director’s contract through the 2028/29 season. A maestro of major international standing, the Italian conductor is also set to embark on his sixth season as Principal Conductor of the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, and in September 2022 he assumed the role of Principal Conductor of the NHK Symphony Orchestra in Tokyo. He previously served for six seasons as Principal Conductor of the Metropolitan Opera and nine seasons as General Music Director of the Zurich Opera.

Gemma New
Sought after for her insightful interpretations and dynamic presence, New Zealand-born Gemma New is Artistic Advisor and Principal Conductor of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra. She also holds the titles of Music Director of the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra and Principal Guest Conductor of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Hailed by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch as “a rising star in the musical firmament”, New is the recipient of the prestigious 2021 Sir Georg Solti Conducting Award.

Maurice Cohn
Maurice Cohn joined the DSO as Assistant Conductor (Marena & Roger Gault Chair) in September 2021. In his time with the orchestra, he has conducted family concerts, youth programs and special events as well as acts as cover conductor for Music Director Fabio Luisi and all guest conductors on the Texas Instruments Classical Series. Cohn led the world premiere of Mason Bates’s Philharmonia Fantastique in October 2021, and he conducted the DSO for the Mavericks’s Dirk Nowitzki jersey retirement event in January 2022.

Jeff Tyzik
GRAMMY® Award winner Jeff Tyzik is one of America’s most innovative and sought-after pops conductors. Tyzik is recognized for his brilliant arrangements, original programming and engaging rapport with audiences of all ages. This is the ninth season that Tyzik has held The Dot and Paul Mason Principal Pops Conductor’s Podium at the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. He also serves as Principal Pops Conductor of the Detroit Symphony, and the Oregon Symphony. This season, Tyzik will celebrate his 28th season as Principal Pops Conductor of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra.
