Stuart Stephenson joined the Dallas Symphony Orchestra as Principal Trumpet at the beginning of the 2022/23 season. Previously, Stephenson was the principal trumpet of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, where he held the position from 2013-2022. He has also been a guest musician with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, New York Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra and the Kansas City Symphony, among others.

Stephenson is on faculty at Southern Methodist University, as well as the Aspen Music Festival and School, and maintains a private studio in Dallas. He has also worked with the Sun Valley Summer Symphony, the Grand Teton Music Festival and the Mainly Mozart Festival.

Stephenson holds a bachelor’s degree from The Juilliard School and a master’s degree from Northwestern University. He is a Yamaha Performing Artist.
