Dallas Symphony Children’s Chorus
The Dallas Symphony Children’s Chorus builds upon the rich history and practice of choral singing established in the Greater Dallas region, including the Dallas Symphony Chorus through its over forty years of service. The DSCC provides a multi-tiered choral curriculum for children and youth grades 4-12, with a continued emphasis on artistic excellence and representation of Dallas’ diverse communities.

At the DSCC, our goal is to instill a love for music, build confidence, foster teamwork through hands-on experience, and enhance music reading skills and singing technique. With a vision to create harmony with other passionate and talented singers at a young age, DSCC’s singers will find life-long joy in achieving excellence and becoming compassionate, empathetic individuals – all while having fun!

Tiered Program
Training Choir teaches students the fundamentals of singing and learning music and is led by director, Brittany Haywood, and Artistic Director, Ellie Lin. Training Choir meets from 6:00-7:00pm on Monday evenings.
Symphonic Voices is the DSCC’s premiere treble choir that performs regularly with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Symphonic Voices meets from 7:00-8:45pm on Monday evenings and is led by Artistic Director, Ellie Lin, and assistant director Hans Grim.
Mixed Ensemble is a high school SATB (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass) ensemble and is led by director, Victor Johnson, and assistant director, Cory Curvin. Mixed Ensemble meets from 7:00-9:00pm on Monday evenings.
Auditions
The DSCC looks forward to hosting more auditions in August 2026!
Audition Requirements
4th-8th Grade: Students in grades 4-8 do not need to prepare a song. Students will be asked to do some simple vocalizations and echo singing to help determine vocal range and ability to match pitch.
9th-12th Grade: Students in grades 9-12 will need to prepare a song, preferably one selected from the UIL Prescribed Music List, Class 1 or 2.
2026/2027 DSCC Season
(Symphonic Voices only)
A group of 25 singers from DSCC Symphonic Voices will perform alongside Foreigner at Fair Park’s Dos Equis Pavillion, including the classic song “I Want to Know What Love Is.”
(All Choirs)
The DSCC is proud to present its fifth season. The DSCC Fall Concert will feature all three choirs in a program at the Meyerson Symphony Center.
(Symphonic Voices only)
Holidays with the DSO is a very special DSCC tradition at the Meyerson Symphony Center each December. Symphonic Voices students will perform classic Christmas carols with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and Dallas Symphony Chorus.
(Mixed Ensemble only)
The DSCC Mixed Ensemble will perform at a large corporate event at the Thompson Dallas Hotel.
(Training Choir only)
The DSCC Training Choir will perform for a Sunday service at Shiloh Baptist Church in Plano, Texas, where the DSCC’s own Victor Johnson serves as music director.

Training Choir: $450 | Symphonic Voices: $500 | Mixed Ensemble: $600
A tuition assistance application is sent as a part of the DSCC welcome packet at the beginning of each season.
Tuition may be paid by check or with credit card. Checks should be made payable to Dallas Symphony Association. Kindly write your student’s name and DSCC in the memo line. A credit card form will be provided to families at the beginning of each season.
