Violin

Bing Wang joined the Dallas Symphony Orchestra in 1997. Born in Shanghai, China, he began his violin studies with his father, Professor De-Wen Wang, and Professor Guimin Xing, at age 4. Hi is the recipient of the 1991 Davidorff Young Musician of the Year Award (Germany). Wang has played solo and chamber music performances in the U.S., Canada, Japan, Portugal, England, Greece, Germany and Mexico. He earned his bachelor’s degree in music from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, with Dorothy DeLay and Kurt Sassmannhaus, and his master’s degree from the University of Southern California with Alice Schoenfeld. Wang also studied at Indiana University with Henryk Kowalski. He has one son and one daughter, David and Catherine.
