Chinese Bass Liang Li studied in Tianjin and Beijing, won several vocal competitions and has developed quickly to an sought-after international Opera- and concert-singer. He has established himself in the French, German as well as Italian repertoire and performs on all main stages and concert-venues working together regularly with conductors like  Zubin Mehta, Sir Simon Rattle, Myung-Whun Chung, Donald Runnicles, Tomás Netopil, Sylvain Cambreling, Jonathan Nott, Manfred Honeck among others.

Guest-engagements lead the artist regularly to the Baden-Baden Festival with  Die Walküre/Hunding (Jonathan Nott) and Manon Lescaut/Geronte de Ravoir (Richard Eyre/Sir Simon Rattle), at the Opéra de Paris with Il Trovatore/Ferrando (Daniele Rustioni; Alex Ollé ) and Don Giovanni/Commendatore (Alain Altinoglu), to the Deutsche Oper Berlin as Gurnemanz/Parsifal (Donald Runnicles) and König Marke/Tristan und Isolde and upcoming to a new production of Simone Boccanegra/Fiesco,  to the Semperoper Dresden with Macbeth/Banco and as Cardinal de Brogni/La Juive, to Caen and Luxemburg with Der Fliegende Holländer/Daland (François-Xavier Roth), to the Opera Festival Beijing (NCPA) with Nabucco/Zaccharia alongside Placido Domingo, as well as to the Palau de les Arts Valencia with Il Trovatore/Ferrando and Tristan and Isolde/Marke (Zubin Mehta), to Teatro Real Madrid /”Rigoletto/’Sparafucile’.

He has a strong relationship to the Hamburgische Staatsoper, performing there e.g. Turandot/Timur, Norma/Oroveso, Die Walküre/Hunding etc. For his outstanding performances at the Staatstheater Stuttgart, where he was a principal for ten years, the artist was awarded the honoray title “Kammersänger” in 2016.

Upcoming engagements include his debut at Théâtre de Génève, his return for several new productions to the Hamburgische Staatsoper, Berlin, concerts with the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra and his debut with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra among others.
