The popular traveling concert stage returns to DFW, bringing classical music to the community this summer with a full schedule of free performances May 21 – June 10

DALLAS, TX (May 16, 2024) – The Dallas Symphony Orchestra (DSO) announces the return of the Concert Truck this summer, with an exciting lineup of free performances by DSO musicians and other artists across the community. The Concert Truck, in partnership with the DSO, will present collaborative community concerts across the city, rolling into iconic Dallas destinations like NorthPark Center and Thanksgiving Square to bring classical music to the community. Each concert will be 45-60 minutes and free to attend. Dallas Symphony Orchestra musicians will be on tour in Europe this June – their first international tour since 2013 – but the Concert Truck performances will roll on. Concert Truck appearances in June will feature guest artists in solo and four-hand piano performances.

“The Concert Truck is very excited to return to Dallas for our seventh residency with the Dallas Symphony!” said Concert Truck founders Susan Zhang and Nick Luby. “We are looking forward to making music with our friends in the orchestra, and we are honored to help continue the DSO’s live outdoor programming this summer while the orchestra is on tour.”

The Concert Truck, founded in 2016 by concert pianists Susan Zhang and Nick Luby, is a traveling concert stage that brings classical music directly to communities all over the United States. Since their first visit to Dallas during the 2020 holiday season, the Concert Truck and DSO musicians have provided a way for communities to experience and enjoy hundreds of performances around the DFW Metroplex.

ABOUT THE CONCERT TRUCK
The Concert Truck, founded in 2016 by concert pianists Susan Zhang and Nick Luby, is a traveling concert stage housed in an 18-ft box truck that brings classical music directly to communities in outdoor spaces all over the United States. In the recent seasons, The Concert Truck has partnered with the Aspen Music Festival and School, Seattle Chamber Music Society, Strings Music Festival in Steamboat Springs, Piano Cleveland, the Smithsonian, and the Kennedy Center to share music with their local communities. Additionally, The Concert Truck created an online children’s show in partnership with the Four Seasons Chamber Music Festival that has been presented to over 55,000 students in North Carolina schools. The Concert Truck launched in April 2016, giving eight performances in five days throughout the city of Columbia, SC. It has received awards, fellowships, and grants for social innovation and creativity in music.
