COVID-19 Safety Protocols

UPDATED 03.01.22

The Dallas Symphony Orchestra is committed to creating a comfortable, enjoyable and safe environment for its musicians, patrons and staff.  We have been fortunate to continue to share live music both virtually and in-person throughout the pandemic with great support from our audience, and with the guidance of many close advisors and medical professionals.

With the revised policy recommendations from the CDC and Dallas County’s Clay Jenkins, effective immediately we will be making masks optional for our audiences. While masks will be optional, we will continue to encourage our patrons to wear them and are certain that many will continue to do so.

Additionally, with the community spread fairly low now, we will no longer require proof of vaccine or negative COVID tests to attend DSO concerts.

If the situation changes, we may make adjustments to our protocols.

Additional Details

Face coverings are recommended for your safety and for the well-being of our staff and musicians.

All DSO tickets are digital and contactless ticket scanning is available.  Your tickets will be emailed directly to you ahead of your concert weekend, and available online on your Dallas Symphony account.

We are currently limiting attendees to 80%-100% of full capacity based on the type of concert and other factors. Due to higher capacity levels, you may be seated directly next to or in front/back of other patrons.  If you ever feel uncomfortable, please see an usher to be reseated.

The building will be deep-cleaned and disinfected throughout the season, and we will maintain a rigorous cleaning schedule on a daily basis. Hand sanitizing stations are placed throughout the venue.  High-touch areas, including countertops, door handles and elevators, are cleaned and sanitized regularly. The Meyerson has also installed HEPA filters for air purification and circulation.

Food and beverage options will be available before each concert and during intermission. Food and beverages are not permitted inside the Concert Hall, but may be enjoyed in designated areas throughout the lobby and in Shirley and Bill McIntyre Park (whether permitting).

For your convenience, drinks can be pre-ordered for intermission and picked up in the designated locations.

Advanced reservations are recommended for dinner in OPUS.  For more information or to make online reservations, please visit www.diningatthemeyerson.com.
