DURUFLÉ Requiem
Duruflé’s Requiem is a product of the French composer’s exhausting perfectionism — a piece of staggering grandeur that swells with struggle and triumph that you can hear in every harmony. The Dallas Symphony Chorus celebrates its 50th anniversary as the official vocal ensemble of the DSO with an ethereal performance of Duruflé’s crown jewel symphonic poem, plus Parry’s “I Was Glad” to herald in the majestic sound of a royal coronation and Britten’s gentle, whimsical Rejoice in the Lamb for a choral concert woven in worship and wonder.
