Lise Lindstrom

Soprano

American dramatic soprano Lise Lindstrom has dazzled the world with compelling performances in roles that range from Turandot to Senta, Elektra and Brünnhilde. She has performed with the world’s leading opera houses, including the Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Wiener Staatsoper, Royal Opera House Covent Garden and Teatro alla Scala. She received both the Green Room Award and Helpmann Award after performing Brünnhilde in her first complete Ring Cycle for Opera Australia in 2016.

This season, Lindstrom performs with Opera Australia as title role Turandot, Oper Leipzig as Brünnhilde  Götterdamerung, Royal Danish Opera as Brünnhilde Die Walküre and Oper Frankfurt as Färberin Die Frau ohne Schatten, and makes her debut with the Semperoper Dresden as title role Elektra. Further ahead, she performs Gurre-Lieder with the London Philharmonic Orchestra (Gardner) and RAI Orchestra Turin (Luisi), Elektra for the Royal Danish Opera, Die Färberin in Cologne and Dresden, and Brünnhilde in the full Ring Cycle for Dresden and Opera Australia.

Recent opera highlights include the title roles of Turandot (Met, ROH, Wiener Staatsoper, Munich, Milan, Barcelona, Valencia) and Salomé (Wiener Staatsoper, Opera Australia), Brünnhilde and Die Färberin (Hamburg), Elisabeth and Venus Tannhäuser (Greek National Opera), Marie Wozzeck (Theater an der Wien), Brünnhilde Die Walküre (Naples, Palermo) and Senta (San Francisco). She has performed in concert with the Orchestre National de Lyon and Deutsche Radio Philharmonie, the Japan Philharmonic (Inkinen), Seoul Philharmonic (Chung), Swedish Radio Symphony (Harding), Rotterdam Philharmonic (Nézet-Séguin), San Francisco Symphony (Tilson Thomas), Dallas Symphony and Bournemouth Symphony orchestras, and as Turandot with the Simón Bolívar Youth Orchestra (Dudamel).

Born and raised in California, Lise Lindstrom was introduced to music by her mother, a singer and music teacher. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree at San Francisco State University and Master of Music degree at San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
