Fabio Sartori
Born in Treviso, tenor Fabio Sartori graduated in singing from the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory in Venice, guided by M° Ghitti and in Bologna with M° Magiera. In 1996, he made his debut in La bohème at Fenice in Venice. Shortly after he debuted in Macbeth for the opening of the 1997/98 season at Teatro alla Scala, conducted by Riccardo Muti. He went on to perform leading Verdi roles such as Gabriele Adorno in Simon Boccanegra at Teatro Comunale in Bologna and the title role of Don Carlo in Bologna and at Teatro Regio in Parma. It was under Claudio Abbado’s direction that he performed Simon Boccanegra in Berlin in 1999. Among the renowned conductors Fabio has worked with are Riccardo Muti, Claudio Abbado, Daniel Barenboim, Daniele Gatti, Zubin Mehta and Gianandrea Noseda.
Recent highlights include a new production of Fedora at La Scala, directed by Mario Martone, his role debut as Otello under M° Zubin Mehta at Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and at Enescu Festival in Bucharest. He performed in Aida at the Bayerische Staatsoper, Pagliacci at the Arena di Verona and Simon Boccanegra at Teatro Regio di Parma. At Teatro Fenice in Venice he performed at the New Year’s concert, world broadcasted live on television. In the 2024/25 season he performs in Madama Butterfly at Liceu in Barcelona, Andrea Chenier in Genoa, Tosca at Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Simon Boccanegra and Tosca in Berlin.
