Throughout her career, Elizabeth Helgeson has demonstrated a strong interest in building communities through the arts. Helgeson is currently serving as the Director of Artistic Planning and Administration at the New York Philharmonic. In this role, she supports the artistic direction and planning of one of the world’s leading orchestras. Her work involves coordinating performances, managing artistic collaborations, and developing long-term strategies to enhance the Philharmonic’s artistic profile.

Before joining the New York Philharmonic, Helgeson held the same position at the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center from April 2017 to April 2022. During her tenure, she played a pivotal role in facilitating performances and expanding the Society’s reach and impact within the chamber music community. Helgeson’s leadership experience extends to her time as President of the Talea Ensemble, a New York-based contemporary music group. From February 2015 to April 2017, she guided the ensemble in presenting innovative and diverse musical programs, emphasizing contemporary compositions and collaborations.
