Dallas Symphony Orchestra announces three-concert series in partnership with Bloomberg Television series presented by Toyota

Concerts include Chris Botti Live in Dallas, Fabio Luisi Conducting Mozart’s Requiem and A Holly Jolly Celebration

Dallas, Texas (October 20, 2021) – The Dallas Symphony Orchestra (DSO) and Bloomberg Television today announce a partnership for three televised concerts from the DSO’s Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. These newly recorded performances will be presented by Toyota. The partnership includes a $5,000 donation Toyota will make to the Dallas Symphony’s Young Musicians Program.

“Bloomberg is proud to expand our partnership with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and increase the offerings of arts programming for our global viewers,” said Al Mayers, Global Head of Bloomberg Television and Radio. “The three events showcase the very best in jazz, classical and holiday favorites, providing our audiences with incredible music.”

The first concert of the series will feature jazz trumpeter and multiple GRAMMY® Award-winner Chris Botti. Botti performed on the Meyerson stage for three performances, October 8-10, 2021, and his set includes everything from jazz to pop to rock along with well-loved standards. Whether he’s performing with illustrious symphonies or at renowned venues around the globe, his unparalleled crystalline and poetic sound transcends musical boundaries. This stunning performance will begin airing on Bloomberg TV and digital platforms on November 12, 2021.

As a remembrance of those lost to the COVID-19 pandemic, DSO Music Director Fabio Luisi will conduct Mozart’s iconic and beloved Requiem. With some of the most-recognizable and poignant music in the repertoire, the Requiem will be a fitting recognition of our collective loss and a look to the future. The Dallas Symphony Chorus and world-renowned soloists will join the DSO in this moving performance. Mozart’s Requiem will air starting December 4, 2021.

The final program in the series is the return of A Holly Jolly Celebration, a one-of-a-kind holiday event featuring festive music and a visit from Santa himself. This year, Dallas business leaders Trammell S. Crow – Founder and Visionary, EarthX; Chad Houser – Founder, CEO and Executive Chef, Café Momentum; T.D. Jakes – Founder and Chairman, T.D. Jakes Foundation; Lynn McBee – Civic Leader, Former Chairman of the Board of The Dallas Opera and TACA; Christine Perez – Editor, D CEO; will take the stage in guest roles from narrator to conductor to soloist. The event is chaired by Kim and Greg Hext. The whole family will enjoy this unique holiday celebration and bring the Dallas Symphony’s Christmas tradition into the comfort of their home. A Holly Jolly Celebration will begin airing December 18, 2021.

“We are bringing world-class artists and the artistry of the DSO to a larger audience through Bloomberg media,” said Kim Noltemy, Ross Perot President & CEO of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. “We are grateful to Toyota for supporting these broadcasts.”

“We are happy for the partnership of Bloomberg Media, Toyota, Chris Botti and our orchestra to offer wonderful music to a national audience,” said Dallas Symphony Music Director Fabio Luisi.

“Toyota is pleased to partner with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and Bloomberg Television to bring multiple world-class performances to viewers around the world,” said Jessamine Merrill, general manager, media & digital engagement, Toyota Motor North America. “Since relocating our North American headquarters to Plano in 2017, supporting the local culture and community here in North Texas has been a priority for Toyota, and it’s an honor to share the extraordinary work of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.”
