Designed to increase the diversity of American orchestras, the Dallas Symphony Young Strings program develops the talents of exceptional and underrepresented string players in the city of Dallas by providing its students with the skills, lessons, opportunities, and resources essential for success both in college and careers in music.
Auditions are in January for string students in grades 6-10 who live or go to school in the city of Dallas. CLICK HERE to download an application. For more information contact Carolyn Jabr, Young Strings Manager, at email@example.com.
The DSO Young Strings program holds summer camps for all string students (violin, viola, cello, and double bass), 5th grade and older. These are intensive, week-long workshops, led by DSO and other professionals, designed to help students improve their technique and musicianship through work in chamber ensembles. Both camps are held at the Meyerson Symphony Center (2301 Flora St.)
PLEASE NOTE: Summer Camps have been postponed until 2021.
