Youth Concerts

Students in the audience listening to a DSO concert

Over 30,000 students and teachers from the Dallas/Fort Worth area attend the Dallas Symphony Youth Concerts each year! The Youth Concert series presents three different programs each year for students in grades PreK-6.

Youth Concerts at the Meyerson are back! We hope you and your students can join us for in-person concerts this year!

22/23 Season

Conductor: Maurice Cohn

Do you ever think about what music can represent? From depicting animals like a peaceful swan, to describing an emotion like joy or anxiety, to capturing the energy of stars and colors, music can portray many things. Come hear the Dallas Symphony perform classics by Strauss and Verdi along with new works by contemporary composers Angélica Negrón and Jessie Montgomery to guide us through many possibilities of what music can represent!

Conductor: Maurice Cohn

Have you ever noticed the connection between music and dancing? Join us as the Dallas Symphony and professional dancers take us on a journey to showcase the many types of dance music written for orchestra like tango, waltz, and swing!

Conductor: Maurice Cohn

Travel back in time for a tour through the history of the orchestra! But don’t worry! With the Dallas Symphony as our guide, we will be able to fit hundreds of years of history in just 45 minutes, seeing and hearing the changes that led to the orchestra as it is today. You’ll hear pieces by contemporary composers Carlos Simon and Gabriela Lena Frank as well as classics by Tchaikovsky and Brahms.
