Black History Month 2025

February is Black History Month – a month-long recognition and tribute to the contributions of generations of African Americans who have played a pivotal role in U.S. history. Noted historian and Harvard alum Carter G. Woodson is known as the “Father of Black History” and is credited as the founder of Black History Month, also known as African American History Month. The theme for Black History Month 2025 is “African Americans and Labor,” with a focus on the various and profound ways that work of all kinds intersects with the collective experiences of Black people. Throughout this month, let us take the opportunity to honor the invaluable impact of Black people in our country, both past and present.
