Remembering Warren Gould (1928–2022)

The Dallas Symphony Orchestra mourns the loss of longtime friend and former Director of Development, Warren Gould.

Mr. Gould was the former Director of Development and University Relations at the University of Texas at Dallas and former Director of Development for the Dallas Symphony Association. He passed away at the age of 93 on April 11, 2022. He served UT Dallas from 1972 to 1977. In 1982, he became Vice President for Development at the American Heart Association National Center and subsequently served as Director of Development and University Relations at Texas Women’s University in Denton, Texas.

In 1986, Mr. Gould joined the consulting firm of C.W. Shaver & Company, where he worked with nonprofit clients, most notably the Dallas Symphony Association, where he later became the Director of Development. Warren assisted with fundraising efforts for the construction of the Meyerson Symphony Center and continued his efforts with the DSO until his retirement in 1993. Mr. Gould recently honored his family by endowing the Dallas Symphony Orchestra’s Gould Family Organ Recital Series.

Mr. Gould was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Gould (2002) as well as his son, Jim Gould (2019). Warren’s full remembrance from his family may be found here.
