Kiya Klopfenstein
A native of San Diego, California, Kiya Klopfenstein joined the Dallas Symphony as Orchestra Librarian in 2026. She was first introduced to the orchestra library during her undergraduate studies, where she quickly fell in love with how it magically combined all her interests in music performance, history, and theory. Prior to joining the DSO, she was a fellow at the New World Symphony in Miami Beach, Florida and has worked in the libraries of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Santa Fe Opera, Boston University School of Music, Aspen Music Festival, and Tanglewood Music Center. Additionally, she acted as librarian for the Festival Orchestra during the 2025 Shostakovich Festival in Leipzig, Germany.
She holds a Master of Music Education from Boston University and Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance from San Diego State University.
Outside of the library, Kiya can be found reading, birdwatching, and collecting LPs of her favorite orchestral recordings.
