Dallas Symphony Orchestra Returns to the Community with The Concert Truck
Free Performances Begin Wednesday, May 17
DALLAS, TEXAS—(May 12, 2023) La Orquesta Sinfónica de Dallas is pleased to welcome back the community favorite The Concert Truck for a residency throughout May and June 2023. The Concert Truck, presented by the DSO, will travel citywide, bringing music to 30+ iconic Dallas locations including Parque Klyde Warren, Calle Knox y Centro NorthPark. Each 60-minute, family-friendly concert is free to attend with the mobile stage visiting neighborhoods, schools, shopping centers, parks, restaurants, residential communities and healthcare settings.
Performances kick off on Miércoles, May 17, at El Landon en Lake Highlands (2:30pm) and the Highland Park Library (6:15pm). A complete Concert Truck schedule can be found aquí.
The Concert Truck, founded in 2016 by concert pianists Susan Zhang and Nick Luby, is a traveling stage housed in an 18-ft box truck that brings classical music directly to communities all over the United States. Since their first visit to Dallas during the 2020 holiday season, The Concert Truck and DSO musicians have provided a way for communities to experience and enjoy over 200 performances around the Metroplex, most recently in Fall 2022.

Each event will feature Dallas Symphony Orchestra musician small configurations – from solo violin to brass combo. Audiences are in for a treat with virtuosic, finger-bending showpieces and well-loved classics in the musical lineup.

In recent seasons, The Concert Truck has partnered with the Aspen Music Festival and School, Seattle Chamber Music Society, Strings Music Festival in Steamboat Springs, Piano Cleveland, the Smithsonian, and the Kennedy Center to share music with their local communities. Additionally, The Concert Truck created an online children’s show in partnership with the Four Seasons Chamber Music Festival that has been presented to over 55,000 students in North Carolina schools.
The Concert Truck launched in April 2016, giving eight performances in five days throughout the city of Columbia, South Carolina. It has received awards, fellowships, and grants for social innovation and creativity in music.
