Mahler Symphony No. 4 in G major,
Chamber Ensemble Version arranged by Klaus Simon
Conducted by Music Director Fabio Luisi, don’t miss the DSO’s journey through Mahler’s emotional and complex Symphony No. 4.
At the request of esteemed composer Arnold Schoenberg came Klaus Simon’s 1920 chamber arrangement of Mahler’s joyous 4th symphony, a contrapuntal, folk-tune inspired musical journey from experience to innocence, from complexity to simplicity, and from earthly life to heaven, complete with tender string passages, brass chorales, and lilting soprano lines.
