Hollywood Serenade: The Artistry of Caroline Campbell

May 7 – 9, 2021

The incredible Caroline Campbell joins guest conductor Steven Reineke and the DSO for an electric weekend of movie music favorites and violin magic.  Hear silver screen favorites like “Love Theme” from The Godfather, the popular tango “Por una Cabeza” (as heard in Scent of a Woman), “America” from West Side Story, the theme from Pirates of the Caribbean, and more, all performed with Campbell’s signature show-stopping flair.

In high demand both in the classical and popular scene, she has been nicknamed “violinist to the stars” and hand-picked to play duets with world-renowned artists including Sting, Andrea Bocelli, Steven Tyler, Adam Levine, Michael Buble, Rod Stewart, David Foster, and Seal.

Caroline tours regularly with jazz trumpeter Chris Botti, and Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, with reviewers concluding that Caroline is “an artist in her own right” and that she “pulled out all the stops and blew us away with her easy virtuosity – rapid scales and leaps, double-note passages, and harmonics so magical and in tune that they took your breath away,” and that “Campbell’s total magnetism as a performer is simply astonishing.”

The release of her live performance of her classical/rock arrangement of “Skyfall” onstage with David Foster on YouTube has positioned Caroline at the forefront of the classical crossover genre and increased her demand in a variety of venues, shows and collaborations outside of traditional classical music.

Take a sneak peak at this dynamic virtuoso and join us live at the Meyerson to witness Campbell’s passion and unabashed joy as she brings to life the movie music you love!

IMPORTANT UPDATE (March 2, 2021): It is the DSO’s duty to ensure the safety and health of our employees and patrons when we hold concerts, and we will continue to follow our current protocols backstage and in the front of house with patrons. Masks will be mandatory for staff, patrons, musicians and anyone working in the Meyerson. It has been clearly demonstrated that masks and social distancing slow the spread of COVID-19, and at this time, the CDC is recommending mask wearing in public places. Despite Texas Governor Abbott’s elimination of mask requirements and attendance limits in venues as of March 10, the DSO will require masks in the Meyerson Symphony Center, and we will limit attendance for the remainder of this season.
